120 years ago, in the small German town of Zerbst, the chemist Wilhelm Uebe achieved worlwide success with a simple diagnostic device: He developed the clinical thermometer the way we know it today and which from there set out on a trail of success throughout the world. Brilliant inventions are often very simple. Wilhelm Uebe had the idea of closing the upper part of the glass thermometer by melting instead of using a gypsum plug.

The safer and more hygenic solution by UEBE establishes itself. For many years the clinical thermometers by UEBE were the top-selling device for self diagnosis.
